I love scary movies and what better way to get in the spirit of Halloween than scaring yourself half to death?? Make a thing of it by putting together some tasty Halloween-inspired treats and inviting friends over!
15 Must Watch Halloween Movies
The Ring (2002)
This one is still as creepy as the first time I watched it. The eery silence leaves you reaching for the nearest person. To this day, I hate when my TV goes static.
The Shining (1980)
Oldie, but goodie! “Here’s Johnny!”, never gets old and the suspense will keep you on the edge of your seat.
Nightmare on Elm Street (1984)
Usually the good thing about scary movies is that the bad guy gets defeated, so we can rest soundly after. Not this one, he makes you not even want to go to sleep!
The Omen (1976 0r 1991)
There’s something about children that is just so creeepy!! Little Damian may be the reason I first formed that opinion. The Omen doesn’t have a bunch of thrill, but the devil is alive in this film.
The Exorcist (1973):
Similarly, the original Exorcist film was terrifying and creepy! As one of the first demonic possession films, it deserves a watch this All Hallow’s Eve.
Halloween can somewhat lose it’s hype once you’ve seen it and the newer versions a thousand times. But it just wouldn’t be Halloween without watching the classic!
I’m really tough on the new movies and not many of them have been able to scary me, because of their predictability. Annabelle, however did creep me out!
The Others (2001)
I love, love, love this movie! The storyline is AWESOME and doesn’t slack on thrill!
The suspense in this one keeps you entertained, even if the acting gets a little….dry.
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1978 or 2003)
This original will gross you out and scare the hell out of you. You plead with the characters to make smarter choices and they don’t. Then BLAM! Guts and gore everywhere.
This film is the single reason I will NOT do corn-mazes. Have fun with that….I’ll be somewhere far, far away. Jeepers Creepers has the ultimate villain in how he stalks and haunts his prey.
Invasion of the Bodysnatchers (1978)
This Sci-Fi/horror film is suspenseful as hell and these aliens are unlike any you’ve ever seen.
The original maniacal killer doll. Chucky certainly marred most of our childhoods.
After seeing the first Saw I was hooked! These movies, though super gory, are thrilling the whole way through. It makes you want to rethink your interactions with everyone around you.
Psycho (1960 or 1998)
This classic thriller keeps you entertained and the sequels are equally amazing.
That’s my list! If you have more movies that scare you shitless please share in the comments below!
